Josefina Tostado Memorial Scholarship Fund

On September 22nd, Josefina Tostado, mother of Cantwell alumni Oscar and Richard Tostado (class of 1976) passed away four days shy of her 96th birthday.  She came to the US as an immigrant from Mexico in the early 50's, married and raised a family in East LA.  She lived a good long life, lived to see many things, part of that "great generation" that worked hard to establish themselves and their Children, always emphasizing the importance of a good education.

Throughout her final years, She spoke several times of how she wanted to repay Cantwell back for the year of tuition assistance her Sons received when their Father, Victor Tostado, passed away between their Junior and Senior years.  The assistance was vital at a critical time for the Family.

In honor of Josefina, Family and friends have pooled personal and estate resources to contribute to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, an attempt to pay forward a gift that may never be fully paid back -- but that true to her wishes -- you certainly do your best to do so.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Josefina Tostado Memorial Scholarship Fund, please go to the give now page, and select her scholarship from the Gift Designation menu.
