Why Giving Matters

Your gift to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School (CSHM) ensures that we may continue our mission of providing a quality college preparatory education to deserving young men and women. It is estimated that the actual cost of educating your child currently is approximately $11,000.00 per student.

 

Every year we find that the one road block for students attending CSHM has been the financial one. Many families from public schools and Catholic middle schools are finding it more difficult to afford a Catholic education. Help us fill the gap and provide more Catholic education to our future generations.

 

 

WHAT TO SUPPORT

Scholarship & Giving Funds - Give to what matters to YOU!

 

  • Archbishop John J. Cantwell Scholarship Fund

Scholarships are given from this fund to students in honor of Cantwell High School (9-12th grade). The scholarship amounts are based on need after a financial aid application is filled out through CSHM. 

 

  • Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Scholarship Fund

Scholarships are given from this fund to students in honor of Sacred Heart of Mary High School (9-12th grade). The scholarship amounts are based on need after a financial aid application is filled out through CSHM. 

 

  • Athletics Fund
Gifts to this fund are used for equipment, uniforms, and team supplies.

 

  • Fine Arts Fund

Upgrades and art supplies for classwork are always needed for the department.

 

  • Select your own Designation
You are welcome to write in your own designation.  The funds you donate will be restricted to use in that area.

  • Credit Card Donations

CSHM accepts credit card donations. These gifts can be made by calling the Development Office at 323-887-2066 Ext. 516 or by clicking here.

 

  • Your Company Might Match Your Gifts
Matching gifts are a great opportunity to double your gift! Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift! 
 
  • In-Kind Gifts

Gifts of capital assets, such as various types of commercial equipment or furniture, technical equipment or products and services that the school can directly benefit from. By law, CSHM cannot provide the donor with the dollar value of an in-kind gift. Such valuations should be discussed with your tax professional.

 

  • Memorial and Honorary Gifts

CSHM High School accepts memorial gifts in honor of alumni, teachers or staff. Your memorial gift can also help perpetuate the memory of a loved one. Gifts may honor a living person or celebrate a special event such as a class reunion. 

 
  • Donor-Advised Funds
Donor-Advised Funds are investment funds for donors to increase their impact of giving. When you make a charitable contribution you automatically receive a tax benefit. At that point you are now a Donor Advisor and can recommend grants from the fund over time. With diligent research the investment fund researches the organizations to ensure they are non-profit organizations. With interest growing the donor can create a greater impact to organizations in need.

 

  • Stocks, Bonds, or Mutual Funds

Gifts of appreciated securities allow you to support CSHM while enjoying potentially significant tax benefits
