Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary is a Catholic co educational High School located in Montebello. Our philosophy and mission is based on the call to "To Teach as Jesus Did." We strive to offer our students a rigorous College Preparatory education, while stressing the importance of acting with Christian character.
We are very pleased that you are interested in learning more about CSHM. Below you will find the details regarding our admissions process. If you have any questions, or if you would like more help through the admissions process, please contact a member of our team.
STEP 1: THE APPLICATION
Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Application
There is a $50 application fee due at time of submission for domestic and transfer students.
STEP 2: EVALUATIONS
Archdiocese Common Evaluation Forms (below)
Parents fill out the top half of the form and submit it to the student's current school. The school will then share it with CSHM directly. Incoming Freshmen need only ONE evaluation from ether their current Math Teacher, English Teacher OR Current Principal.

STEP 3: TRANSCRIPTS & TEST SCORES
Permission Form (below)
Please fill out the attached form and submit it to the student's current school. This document gives the student's current school permission to share transcripts and testing information with CSHM.
STEP 4: HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST (HSPT)
High School Placement Test
All incoming freshmen are required to take the HSPT to be considered for acceptance to the school. CSHM offers the test twice in the spring semester and accepts HSPT scores from any location the student may take the test. Students are automatically registered for CSHM's test dates with the submission of an application. Please note, you only need to take the HSPT once, we offer two testing dates for your convenience.

Interviews begin at 8:30 AM

ACCEPTANCE
Completed Incoming Freshmen applications submitted will be informed of their acceptance to CSHM via email and mail. Acceptance letters will be emailed, Friday, March 2, 2024.
REGISTRATION
Incoming Freshmen Interview
Freshmen registration is March 9th, 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year by appointment as indicated in the mailed acceptance letter. The $375 registration fee is due at this time to reserve a spot for the student in the fall. During registration, HSPT scores will be reviewed, fall classes will be selected and summer school discussed if needed.
